ATTENDEE

For full registration as festival attendee please visit the Scriabin Society of America (SSA) website and join as member! ($50 full membership, $25 concession, this option is highly recommended).

Alternatively you could register as a casual non-member festival attendee, it is a flat fee of $30 (all in USD, payable to SSA).

Selected videos will be livestreamed on different platforms such as YouTube during the 3 days of the festival. This is to be confirmed/announced closer to the festival.

All the invited festival presenters and winning haiku poets will receive 2022-2023 SSA membership for free.

You can find info about how to register to play at the masterclass or student recital at this Scriabin Society of America webpage. There is a cost for playing at the masterclass or student recital (first-in-first-served I believe but will go through the board's selection process). Please refer to the SSA website above for more details.

POETRY COMPETITION

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

We are happy to announce that "Scriabin 150 Poetry Competition," part of the International Scriabin 150 Festival, is now open with submission deadline extended till midnight 20 September 2022 (Eastern time). No late submissions will be accepted. Also so encourage more poets to submit, the board has decided to drop the submission fees. (FREE OF CHARGE) Please send your submission to scriabin150@gmail.com before the submission deadline.

There is NO set theme to the poems you submit! The judges' decisions are final. If you are unfamiliar with Scriabin's music, you are strongly encouraged to google and listen to some of them on YouTube!

There are three categories in this poetry competition. The judges will be John Stevenson (USA) for haiku/senryu, Ron C. Moss (Australia) for haiga and Garry Gay (USA)/John Thompson (USA) for rengay. 

Please send your short bio (70 words and under) along with your submitted poem(s). There is no limit to the number of poems you may submit, but please submit only one category per email. It is now free of cost to submit.

 

Please include your full name, city of residence, country and email address in the body of the email.

 

Haiga must be submitted as a high resolution image file in two versions, one signed and the other unsigned so it can be judged anonymously. All other poems should be submitted in the body of email as text.

 

When submitting rengay, please submit the same poem twice, the first version with poet initials after each verse and full names after title in order, and the second version anonymous.

 

In the subject line, please use the following format:

If you wish to submit to multiple categories please send them in separate emails, one email per category. Winners of the first three places for each category will be awarded a full membership in the Scriabin Society of America till the end of 2023, which also includes full access to the entire online festival.

IMPORTANT: The only other submission requirement is to include your favourite Scriabin piece in the email. You may include up to three pieces and should include opus numbers, for example mine are Op.38, Op.2 No.1 and Op.8 No.12. You are encouraged to list favorite Scriabin pianists as well.

We will invite shortlisted poets by mid October 2022 to send video readings of their own shortlisted poems by end of October 2022. We will stream these videos online as well as judges’ comments and announcements on day 2 of the Scriabin festival (12 November 2022). Please check the festival programme for the streaming time.
